Teach & Chong
Ed Rosenthal has been helping marijuana smokers his entire life. Through his High Times column Ask Ed, Rosenthal has been there for thousands of people who were having marijuana troubles. Now Rosenthal is in trouble.
In 2002, the Feds raided Rosenthal’s home and business. Rosenthal was convicted in federal court of three felonies relating to marijuana. The 9th Circuit Court of Appeals overturned all three convictions.
Proving that the case is entirely personal, the feds are trying again. Now Rosenthal is being forced to defend himself against accusations of money laundering, falsifying tax returns and…you guessed it…growing marijuana. It will cost him over $300,000 to defend himself.
Tommy Chong understands the predicament well. Chong spent part of 2003 and 2004 in federal prison for selling glass pipes over the Internet. Now he is out and ready to fight back.
Chong has agreed to help Rosenthal raise money to fight the feds in court on March 19. From The Blog of Chong:
“Hey man Ed is being dogged by the feds for his marijuana work with sick people. It is the feds who are sick but we have to stand behind Ed and help him with his legal expenses so please donate what you can.”
The event is being organized by Green Aid and will take place on March 4, 2007 in Piedmont, California. Tickets are $125 and are tax deductible.
This is the front line in the fight for Liberty. Even if there is no way you can attend, please consider supporting Ed’s fight to remain free. For more information, visit Green Aid.com.
